BYDP Projects > Youth Start
Aims
The project will provide accredited vocational
preparation and incentives for participation to
young people aged 13 to 19 living in the Bradford
District, to enable them to examine their
skills, select an occupational area from which to
gain experience and accreditation, assess their
suitability to specific work, review with staff the
practicalities of future training/employment needs.
Young people will be referred from partner
organisations e.g. statutory and voluntary
organisations – schools, youth clubs/centres.
Accreditation will be linked e.g. to the Youthtrain
programme of units, Millennium Volunteers, Duke of
Edinburgh or other accreditation to enhance the
young person as an individual according to their
personal interests and holistic development.
