BYDP Projects > Safeguarding
Bradford Youth
Development Partnership (BYDP) has a strong
commitment to the welfare and protection of all
young people who access our services. Over the last
2 years we have worked in partnership with Bradford
Safeguarding Children Board and Young Lives Bradford
(formerly known as the Children and Young People’s
team) based at Bradford CVS to raise the profile of
safeguarding work and provide direct support to
groups and projects across the district. We have
done this through hosting the Safeguarding Children
Development Worker, Debbie Cordingley.
Debbie’s role ended on the 31st March 2009. Her
legacy has been a wide variety of safeguarding
resources that have been specifically written for
the Voluntary and Community Sector. The development
of these resources have been based on her knowledge
and experience gained through extensive consultation
and direct work with, in excess of over 200
Voluntary & Community Sector groups at grass roots
level.
Although this development role has now come to an
end, the work will continue through a new
Information Officer Post based at Bradford CVS. All
the Safeguarding resources and information Debbie
has collated on behalf of the sector will now be
available through Dionne Norman, Young Lives
Bradford.

BYDP would like to acknowledge the contribution that
Debbie has made to the development of the
organisation over the last 2 years. The commitment
to Safeguarding young people continues for BYDP and
the benefits gained from being part of these
developments have been integrated into all the work
that we do through our safeguarding management
framework.
Our organisation fully supports the government
agenda that “Safeguarding Becomes Everyone’s
Business” and we will continue to work in
partnership with Bradford Safeguarding Children
Board and Young Lives Bradford to ensure the safety
and welfare of all children and young people within
the Bradford District.
